As for myself, I will not donate any money to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure organization until such time as they have greater accountability of where the money I donate is actually spent. Currently a portion of money donated is then given to other groups such as Planned Parenthood. This money is given to provide breast health services but once received by Planned Parenthood can be used for whatever they want including abortion services and contraception services. I wouldn't mind as much if it was guaranteed that the money was used as intended but I can not take the chance that my donation in any way supports abortion services. The fact that they also support embryonic stem cell research is just another nail in their coffin.

This is not just an idle post. My wife is a breast cancer survivor and our house is full of pink ribbons on many different items. I will not be throwing these things out but I will no longer add to the collection. I will also look for an alternative group for breast cancer research.
